Hateley Heath Primary School

Homework

At Hateley Heath Primary School, we believe that homework should be engaging and memorable as well as supportive of our children to learn skills which support them in their lesson across the curriculum.

This means that we have 3 main activities which would like children to focus on at home with parents or guardians and for the rest of the time, they should engage in life lessons which support social, emotional and creative development!

We would like our children to read their home reading book every week (at LEAST three times over the week).

We would like times tables to be practised and known inside out, back to front and quickly!

We would finally like spellings to be learnt as well as recognised within a sentence. These words can be looked up in a dictionary and used in a variety of sentences over the week.

Below are the letters that have been sent to parents along with the power point slides which give ideas about fun ways to enage your child with these activities.

Also see the back of the activities sheet that you were given at parent workshop to find other activities which you could carry out to make learning at home really fun!

You can also find the link to these activities below.
